For the second time this season, the UHA Blazers very nearly pulled off a furious rally. However, just as in the season opener against Murray, the Blazers rally against the Owensboro Red Devils Saturday afternoon came up just a little bit short, as UHA fell to the Red Devils 68-64 at the Farmers Bank & Trust Tip-Off Classic at Muhlenberg County.

The Blazers got off to a good start in the contest taking a 16-15 first quarter lead. D.J Quarles had a big first quarter for UHA with nine points.

The Red Devil offense found its stride in the 2nd quarter. Behind the play of Tucker Hagen, Owensboro outscored the Blazers 23-12 in the second quarter to take a 38-28 halftime lead.

Coming out of the break, the UHA offense had its struggles, as the Blazers could only muster six points in the 3rd quarter. Meanwhile, the Red Devils put up 14 of their own to push the lead out to 52-34 going into the final eight minutes.

Much like they did in the game against Murray, the Blazer then put together a furious rally. Keyed by the play of K.J. Crump, University Heights would score 30 points in the final quarter. However, the Red Devils were able to do just enough to hold on for the four point win. Owensboro would knock down 8 of 11 at the line in the final quarter to help seal the win.

K.J. Crump led the Blazers with 22 points, 17 of them coming in the final quarter. Will Bryan finished with 15 points, while D.J. Quarles chipped in with 14.

Owensboro was led by Jaden Greathouse with 19 points. Amari Wales had 16 points, while Gavin Wimsatt finished with 14 points.
