Ricks Continues Strong Running for Trigg

Livi Ricks ran a strong race for the second straight week. Ricks won the Rossview Invitational Sept. 30 and finished 35th Saturday in a time of 21:44. Trinity Cavanaugh had a strong showing with a 59th place finish, followed by Lexi Ricks (73rd), Rylee Bush (95th), DeDe Barbee (114th), Phelan Dossett (123rd), and Breenanna Barnes (151st).

Trigg County had a very respectable 10th place finish out of 23 teams. Anderson County junior Maddy Moody won the race in a time of 18:55, which was 16 seconds ahead of second place finisher Breanna Alderton of Owensboro.

In the team competition, Daviess County had five runners in the top eight to win with 18 points. North Oldham finished second, and Harpeth Hall finished third. There were 230 runners in the girls’ varsity race.

In the boys’ race, Apollo Blackbear Francis led the Wildcats with a 149th place finish in 19:50, followed by John Chinn (161st), Marshall Jenkins (165th), Tyler Freeman (177th), Walker Foutch (191st), Dallas Ahart (199th), and Jacob Kent (207th). Trigg County finished 22nd as a team.

Daviess County’s Hunter Kurz won the race in a time of 16:17, just ahead of Covington Catholic’s 16:24.
Covington Catholic won the team title with 44 points, followed by Montgomery Bell Academy (68) and Marshall County (135). There were 344 runners in the boys’ varsity race.
