Mashea Glover homered and had five RBIs while Majah Hollowell delivered a grand slam as Caldwell County’s girls rolled to a 17-4 victory at Murray on Friday.

A seven-run third inning was the big frame for the Lady Tigers, who scored in every at-bat during the five-inning contest.

Madi Choate doubled home a run as part of a three-run first inning for Caldwell.

Glover had an RBI double in the second to make it 4-0.

Glover then slammed a three-run homer to center in the third as Caldwell extended its lead to 11-0.

Murray (6-11) scored its first run in the bottom of the third.

But the Lady Tigers answered with two in the top of the fourth on run-scoring doubles by Choate and Shelby Lane. That made it 13-1.

Murray pulled within 13-4 in the bottom of the fourth but could get no closer.

Hollowell’s grand slam in the fifth made it 17-4.

Katie Franklin was the winning pitcher for Caldwell, which has won seven of its last nine games and is now 9-10.
Franklin allowed three earned runs on seven base hits. She struck out seven and walked two.
