
Another area athlete has announced their collegiate intentions. In a tweet Monday night, Caldwell County Lady Tiger pitcher Katie Franklin announced that she would continue her softball career in college at Asbury University.
Franklin, who is a senior at Caldwell County High School, helped lead the Lady Tigers to the 2018 All A State Tournament. She was 14-11 with a 2.03 ERA as a junior. She had one no-hitter and four one-hitters during the season. She struck out 212 batters in 163 innings last year and has 454 strikeouts in 405 career innings.
Franklin also batted .283 with 17 RBIs and is a career .288 hitter with three homers and 44 RBIs.
Asbury is an NAIA school located in Wilmore, Kentucky that is a member of the River States Conference.
