After winning in overtime Thursday night, the Hopkinsville Tigers could not quite complete a second half rally Friday night. Muhlenberg County took a nine point halftime lead and then held on to knock off the Tigers 61-54 in the Farmer’s Bank and Trust Tip-Off Classic.

The first quarter was a tight battle. Muhlenberg County would end the quarter holding a 17-14 lead. K.C. Cabiness had a great start for the Tigers, finishing the quarter with six points.

Led by the efforts of Nash Divine, the Mustangs began to extend their lead in the second quarter. Divine connected for seven points and Muhlenberg County pushed the lead out to 35-26 as the teams headed into the locker room.

Coming out for the 3rd quarter, Arthur McKnight tried to ignite a Tiger rally. McKnight put up eight points in the quarter, but the Tigers were not able to make any headway, as the Mustangs continued to hold a nine point lead at 49-40 heading into the final eight minutes.
