
Heritage Christian Academy couldn’t overcome a slow start and a cold shooting night as they fell to Northside Baptist Christian 55-41 Thursday in Mayfield.
The Warriors shot just 30-percent from the field (15-of-50) and missed all nine of their 3-point attempts in the contest.
Northside jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead before HCA chipped away to cut the deficit to 15-9 at the end of the quarter. The Northside lead remained between the six and eight-point range throughout the second quarter.
Northside ended the third quarter on an 11-5 lead as the Royals scored all 11 of their points in the frame off Warrior turnovers.
Heritage could never get closer than nine points in the fourth quarter and were done in by 20 turnovers in the game.
Trenton Hayes led HCA with 18 points. Derek Wadlington had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Northside Baptist Christian, a member of the Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association, got 17 points from Isaac Watson.
HCA will play in the Bethel Round Robin Saturday in Grayson County.
