
Trigg County traveled to Ballard Memorial for their first scrimmage of the girls’ basketball season Thursday. The teams played two halves that saw the Lady Wildcats win by a combined score of 63-50.
The teams were tied 8-8 after one quarter, and Trigg took the second quarter 26-14 as seven different Lady Wildcats found the scoring column.
In the third quarter, Trigg outscored the Bombers 18-12. Ballard won the final quarter 16-11.
Trigg County had three players reach double figures in scoring. Rylee Bush led Trigg County with 17 points. Adri Phillips scored 12 points, and T.T. Grubbs added 11 points.
Iyanna Grubbs scored six points, and Emily Noffsinger and Marleigh Reynolds both scored five points.
The Lady Wildcats missed all but two of their three-point attempts but knocked down 11-of-18 at the free throw line.
Trigg County, who was 16-16 last year, will scrimmage at Hopkins County Central Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats open their 2019-20 season Dec. 3 at Paducah Tilghman.
