Henderson County dominated the first half on the way to dealing Hopkinsville a 3-0 setback in the regional tournament on Thursday,
The homestanding Colonels outshot Hoptown 14-1 in the first 40 minutes while building a 2-0 lead at the break.
Henderson, now 16-4-3, will host the 2nd Region championship game on Friday at 7 p.m. The Colonels will take on Madisonville-North Hopkins (19-3-2) after the Maroons knocked off University Heights 3-0 in the semifinal round.
Henderson twice struck off of corner kicks in the first half.
Trevor Book tallied the first goal of the night with 23:55 left in the first half.
Bryce Bennett headed in a goal with 11:34 remaining to stake the Colonels to their 2-0 edge at the break.
Henderson added an insurance goal with 13:55 left in the game when Adam Gillham knocked home a rebound off a shot by David Gonzalez.
Hopkinsville, which won an 8th District championship this season, ends the year with a 16-8-1 mark.
