The UHA Lady Blazers will be making their second appearance in as many years in the 2nd Region title game after taking-out tournament favorite Madisonville-North Hopkins 2-1 on Wednesday night.
The teams couldn’t be separated over 80 minutes of regulation or two 5-minute overtime periods, going to a penalty kick shootout tied 1-1.
The Lady Blazers only need four attempts, nailing all four, with one Lady Maroon pushing her shot wide and UHA goalkeeper Lainey Burman coming up with a save on another attempt, before Piper Hancock found the back of the net to set off the celebration.
