After Todd County Central won the program’s first girls’ district soccer championship two years ago, Franklin-Simpson has made sure the Lady Rebels haven’t won a second.
The Lady Cats won a double-overtime thriller last year, and Tuesday handed Todd County Central a 4-0 loss in the semifinals at Logan County. It was Franklin-Simpson’s fourth win over Todd County this season.
Todd County finished their season with a 3-5 record after the All-A Region Tournament due to an influx of injuries that affected several starters. Three of the five losses were to Franklin-Simpson.
The Lady Cats (5-8-1) move into Thursday’s championship game against Logan County (11-5), a 10-0 winner over Russellville in the other semifinal.
Todd County Central’s season ends with a record of 10-11.
