After losing their goalie right before halftime Tuesday night, the Caldwell County Tigers saw things get away from them in their match against Paducah Tilghman. The Blue Tornado erupted for seven second half goals on their way to a 9-0 win over the Tigers on Senior Nite at Butler Stadium.

The Tigers began the night with starting goalie Josh Hagan out of the lineup due to an injury. That put Andrew Risley in goal for the Tigers to start the night. Caldwell County nearly lost Risley in the opening moments of the match. Risley was initially given a red card after going after a ball and colliding with the attacking Paducah Tilghman player. After several minutes of discussion, the officials decided to change the red card to a yellow card, allowing Risley to stay in the match.

The foul gave Tilghman a free kick from just outside the box. Jackson Mundy drilled the kick past Risley to give the Blue Tornado a 1-0 lead at the 4:00 mark.

Around the 39:00 it was Mundy again, this time heading a pass into the net to extend the lead to 2-0.

In the waning second of the half, Risley was again going after a ball coming towards the goal, and again collided with the approaching player from Tilghman. This time Risley suffered an apparent head injury and would leave the field for the night.

In the second half, the Tigers turned to 3rd string goalie Weston Phelps, who had yet to play in goal in his high school career. Phelps, a freshman, would finish the night with four saves, but the experience of Paducah Tilghman soon took over the match.

The Blue Tornado scored four goals in a six minute span to extend the lead to 6-0. Tilghman would add three more goals in the final thirteen minutes of the match to reach the final margin.

The Tigers fall to 4-10-1 on the season. They will close out the regular season Thursday on the road at Russellville.
