Heritage Christian Academy had a pair of runners finish in the top 20 Saturday at the Somerset Christian Cougar Prowl Cross Country Invitational.
Aiyana McDonald finished 16th in the girls’ varsity race. She covered the 3.1-mile course in a time of 27:01. Freshman Liberty Hartsell finished 20th in 30:44.
In the elementary school girls’ race, Anneliese Hartsell finished 14th in a time of 10:01 over the 1.2-mile course. Mackenzie McCarty finished 22nd, followed by Genna Calhoun (24th), Morgan Strader (36th), London Bolinger (59th), Katherine Henderson (71st), Madelyn Hamby (75th), and Hannah Phelps (76th).
As a team, HCA finished fourth out of 11 teams with 54 points.
In the elementary school boys’ race, Cadyn Travis led the HCA runners with an 18th place finish in 8:57 over 1.2 miles. John Spurling was 22nd, followed by Lucas Weiss (31st), Scar Venable (48th), Jordan Starks (57th), Sebastian Marquez (60th), and Wyatt Cook (72nd).
The HCA boys finished fourth as a team out of 12 schools with 50 points.
