Christian County senior golfers Bridget Owens and Hannah Sumner provided a preview of this weekend’s Colonel Golf Invitational by finishing in the top two spots at a three-school match Thursday.
Owens took medalist honors with a score of 41 at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club. Sumner finished tied for second with a score of 45.
Up next for Christian County, it’s their annual Colonel Golf Invitational at Western Hills Golf Course. The event has served as a season kickoff in recent years but a later than normal start to the season statewide caused the school to move it to mid-September and serve as a lead-in to the region golf tournaments the first week of October.
