The Caldwell County Tigers scored a goal in the final two minutes of the match to cap off a come from behind rally to pull out a 3-3 tie with the Fort Campbell Falcons Tuesday evening. The Tigers came back to tie the match after trailing 3-0 at the half.
The Falcons score three first half goals in a span from the 20:00 mark to the 38:00 mark to grab the 3-0 lead. Two of the goals were scored by Rafael Cerritos. Cerritos scored at the 20:00 and the 26:00. Antonio Cervantes scored at the 38:00 mark on an assist from Cerritos. Cervantes also assisted on Cerritos first goal of the night.
Coming out of the halftime break, Caldwell County made its move to get back into the match. Just six minutes into the second half, Blake Vivrette found the net to cut the Fort Campbell lead to 3-1.
The score remained that way until the 70th minute when Vivrette scored again to cut the Falcon lead down to 3-2.
Grayden Miller completed the Caldwell County rally with a goal at the 78:00 mark to tie the match at 3-3.
The Tigers ended up getting 18 shots on goal to Fort Campbell’s six.
With the tie, Caldwell County goes to 1-7-1 on the season. Up next for the Tigers is a Thursday night trip to Lyon County.
Fort Campbell’s record moves to 2-7-1. The Falcons will head to Elkton Thursday to square off against Todd Central.
