After starting the season 0-2, the UHA girls soccer team has been on a tear with three-straight shutout victories, including Wednesday night’s 4-0 win over Christian County at the Stadium of Champions.  The Lady Blazers move to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in 8th-District play, while the Lady Colonels see a two-game winning run stopped to slip to 2-4.

UHA’s Emma Perry opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick in the 9th minute, but a chance to double the lead was missed when Grace Pape’s penalty kick was saved by Lady Colonels’ goalkeeper Eniya McGee.

The Lady Blazers continued to control the game after the halftime break, but the Lady Colonels’ defense stood firm until Pape threaded her way through for a close-range score with 24:30 to play.

Pape was far from done and she completed a 10-minute hat trick with two long-range strikes in quick succesion to end any hope of a Lady Colonel comeback.

UHA will be back on the field on Thursday for its third game in as many days, travelling to Fort Campbell to face the surging Lady Falcons in the 2nd Region All “A” final.  The Lady Colonels are off until Monday when they host Lyon County.
