Tuesday night’s 2-0 loss to Russellville in Elkton sent the Todd County Central boys soccer team to its third-straight shutout loss, leaving the Rebels at 1-5-1 overall and 0-2 in the 13th District. The Panthers are headed in the opposite direction with their fourth-straight win, while outscoring their opposition 20-2.
Russellville’s Avery Flener scored his 21st goal of the season and added an assist, with Dustin Brown adding his second goal off the year for all the offense the Panthers would need. Goalkeeper Nathan Cates made 6 saves to earn the shutout.
The Rebels have the rest of the week to prepare for Saturday’s 4th Region All “A” Classic. They await Saturday morning’s winner between Russellville and Glasgow, with Owensboro Catholic waiting in the title game.
