Lady Falcons Drop Four-Set Match to Livingston

Fort Campbell’s young volleyball team continued their battle with floor communication Monday and came up on the short end of a four-set 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 25-9 loss to Livingston Central on post.

Often times, the Lady Falcons put the pass where they wanted only to have two players in the same spot not complete the play.

The Lady Falcons jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the first set and led 15-13 before Livingston put together a 6-0 run to grab a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Livingston ended the first set with a 6-2 run to claim a 25-18 win.

In the second set, it was Livingston that grabbed a quick lead at 12-7. Fort Campbell tied the set at 12-12. The set was tied five more times before a Livingston service error gave Fort Campbell a 23-22 lead, and the Lady Falcons held on for the 25-23 win.

Livingston used a 9-2 run midway through the third set to claim a 25-15 win and never trailed in the fourth set, jumping out to a 6-1 lead and claiming the 25-9 set win.

Freshman Faith Kaauamo led Fort Campbell with 10 kills and three aces. Jasmin Jones added four kills, and 2 had three kills.

Livingston Central had an 89-percent serve success rate compared to 87-percent for Fort Campbell. However, the Lady Cardinals had 18 aces to just seven for Fort Campbell.

Tori Campbell 10 kills and an ace for Livingston Central (1-3), while Bethany Hawk, Raegan Wooten, and Haley Culp each had five aces. Culp also added four kills.

Fort Campbell (0-3) travels to Webster County Tuesday.
