The Todd County Central boys’ soccer snapped a 24-game losing streak dating back to 2017 with a 5-0 shutout of hosts Monroe County on Saturday, moving to 1-2 on the young season. The Rebels’ last previous victory was a 7-3 result over Russellville on September 7, 2017.
After being shutout in their first two matches, the Rebels took a 2-0 lead over the Falcons at halftime and cruised in with 4 second-half strikes. Mikey Everett led the way with 4 goals, with fellow sophomore Angel Villenueva also finding the back of the net. Goalkeeper Jonah Rager made 6 saves to earn the shutout.
Todd County will look to even its record on Monday when the Butler County Bears (0-2) make the trip to Elkton.
