Tanner Thomas notched his second hat trick in three games to stake University Heights to a quick lead on their way to a 7-1 district win over Fort Campbell Saturday at Givens Field.
Thomas scored the game’s first two goals, the second coming on a penalty kick to put the Blazers ahead quick.
Will Bryan scored the first of his two goals at the 18-minute mark that began a UHA onslaught that saw them score four goals in a nine-minute stretch.
Conner Dill and Bryan scored within a minute of each other, with Bryan’s second goal coming off a steal and breakaway.
Thomas completed the first half hat trick when he also took a pass down the right side and scored to give UHA a 6-0 lead at intermission.
Noah Shouse tallied the lone goal of the second half for the Blazers. Fort Campbell got on the board with a goal from Jhony Paniagua.
The game was played in heat index conditions that ranged in the upper-90s that required water breaks as mandated by KHSAA rules.
Fort Campbell (0-3) will host Ohio County Tuesday, while UHA (2-1) has a week off until they travel to Paducah Tilghman Saturday.
