Hopkinsville prepared for their 2019 football season with a pair of scrimmage wins Friday against Todd County Central and Marshall County.
In the opener, Hopkinsville scrimmaged Todd County in one half of play and edged the Rebels 28-20.
Todd County Central’s Ja’Twan Graham rushed for three touchdowns. He scored on runs of 4, 4, and 2 yards. His third score came with 4:53 left and put the Rebels up 20-14.
Hopkinsville, who had scored on a 5-yard run by Jayden Dillard and an 8-yard run by Tyrell Gray-Lewis, returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the final 1:40 to steal the win.
Tayshawn Head returned a Rebel pass 22 yards for a score with 1:40 left. Conner Lackey followed suit 51 seconds later when he grabbed a pass and took it 28 yards to the end zone to close out the scoring.
In the nightcap, Dillard rushed for three touchdowns and topped the 100-yard mark in rushing as the Tigers beat the Marshals 21-0.
Hopkinsville opens their season Friday at Kenwood, Tenn.
