Paducah Tilghman scored two goals late in the first half and made them stand up in a 3-2 win at Trigg County Tuesday in the girls’ soccer season opener for both schools.
Ashlee Wyatt scored a pair of goals, both assisted by Bella Alexander to give the Lady Wildcats a 2-1 lead midway through the first half. Tilghman answered with two goals to take a 3-2 lead at intermission.
Trigg County had several chances to knot the game in the second half but could not find the back of the net.
The Lady Wildcats will try and bounce back Thursday when they travel to Elkton to face Todd County Central, a 3-2 loser to Fort Campbell on Monday.
