The UHA Lady Blazer volleyball team represented themselves very well, and may have made a strong statement for the upcoming season during the 2019 Bluegrass State Games. The Lady Blazers wrapped up their appearance in the games Sunday losing in a tough three set match to Presentation 16-21, 21-16, 14-16, in the Bronze bracket of the tournament.
The play in the bronze bracket marked the highest flight the Lady Blazers have ever reached in the games. Presentation finished the 2018 season as the 7th Region runnerup, losing to unbeaten state champion assumption.
The Lady Blazers advanced to the bronze bracket after finishing their second day of pool play on Saturday. During the action on Saturday, UHA went 1-2, defeating Thomas Nelson, while losing to Eastern and Ryle.
UHA fell to Ryle in their opening match Saturday, 12-21 and 13-21. The Lady Blazers followed that up with a 21-19 and 21-19 win over Thomas Nelson, before finishing the day with a 10-21 and 17-21 loss to Eastern.
The Lady Blazers will officially open the 2019 season August 19th at Hopkins Central.
