A late rally by the Lyon County Post 68 Junior Team came up one run short in a 7-6 loss to Oldham County Post 39 Friday night at the Chappel Allen Invitational at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.
Brady Darnall and Michael Thomason had RBI singles for the Aces, but they still fell behind 7-2 entering the seventh inning.
Colin Price hit a 3-run home run for Post 68 in the bottom of the seventh, and Davis Corbett followed with a solo shot to bring the Aces to within 7-6.
The rally ended there as a strikeout ended the game.
The Post 68 Junior Team will play Post 39 again Saturday morning at 10am. The Post 68 Senior Team will play Post 39 Saturday night at 6pm as the Chappel Allen Invitational continues through Sunday.
