With the season on the line in Tuesday’s region semifinal battle with Henderson County, the Hopkinsville baseball team turned to a sophomore and a freshman to get the job done on the mound.
Zach Caudill got the start, working four innings before being relieved by freshman Jacob Dilday in the fifth, with Dilday limiting the Colonels to a single run on a hit with two walks and a couple of strikeouts the rest of the way.
Afterward, Dilday talked about his mindset on entering the game and looked forward to Wednesday’s title game against Caldwell County.
