Aidan Rush pitched a complete-game shutout, scattering six base hits, as Lyon County captured a 10-0 victory at Livingston Central in a 5th District baseball makeup date on Monday.
Rush threw 102 pitches, striking out three and walking two in the contest as the Lyons wrapped up the No. 1 seed for the district tournament later this month.
Gunnar Bingham was 3-for-5 and drove in four runs while Gabe Board was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and knocked in two for the Lyons. Jake Klueppel went 2-for-3.
Lyon (19-8 overall, 5-1 district) scored four times in the top of the second inning to grab control. Bingham’s two-run double with two outs was the big hit of the inning.
The Lyons tacked on another run in the top of the sixth when Board doubled with one out and came around to score on a bunt single by Bingham.
Lyon then put the game away with five runs in the top of the seventh. Christian O’Daniel and Brady Darnall had RBI singles. Board doubled home two runs, then Bingham singled in another to make it 10-0.
Livingston (7-11, 2-3) had just one player with multiple hits in the contest. Michael Barrow went 2-for-3 for the Cardinals.
