The Hopkinsville softball team banged-out 20 hits on Tuesday night at McLean County, but weren’t able to turn all those hits into enough runs in a 7-6 loss to the Lady Cougars. The Lady Tigers drop their sixth-straight to slip to 9-17 overall, with a trip to Russellville scheduled for Thursday. McLean County earns its second win in three outings to move to 6-12 on the year.

McLean jumped back in front with a couple of runs in the fifth but the Lady Tigers once again had the answer as Kaetzel and Clayton doubled before an RBI single by Allison Luttrull brought them in to knot the game at 6-6.
The Lady Cougars got the decisive score in the bottom of the fifth, and despite four Lady Tiger base hits over their final two at bats, they couldn’t find the run to extend the game.
