It was a pretty good way to put an end to a losing streak. The Fort Campbell Falcons ended a six game skid by cruising past Fulton City on post Tuesday evening 10-0 in five innings.
The big story of the game was the pitching of Fort Campbell hurler Ryan Sawyer. Sawyer went all five innings in picking up the win for the Falcons, giving up just three hits, while striking out nine, and walking none.
While Sawyer was shutting down the Bulldogs bats, his teammates gave him more than enough run support. The Falcons plated runs in everyone of their five at bats, scoring 2 in the first, second, and third, 3 in the fourth, and the final run in the bottom of the 5th to end the game on the ten run mercy rule.
Kevin Rhodd ended up 2-4, with a double, and three RBIs. Eli Crockett was 3-3, with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored. Matthew Middleton went 2-3, with a double, a triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Tyler MacKay added to the attack, going 3-4, with a double, and three runs scored.
The Falcons are set to return to action Saturday when they host Hopkinsville in an 8th District contest.
