Hopkinsville rapped out 15 hits to back the pitching of Morgan Hodge as the Lady Tigers ripped Dawson Springs 21-2 Monday. It was their second mercy rule win over the Lady Panthers in 11 days.
Freshman Morgan Hodge pitched a no-hitter for the Lady Tigers. She struck out two but did walk eight batters.
Hoptown sent 12 batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring nine runs as a result. The Lady Tigers scored six runs in the second and six more in the fourth inning.
Taiya Straight and Nadia Clayton each had three hits for Hopkinsville, with Clayton and Shaniya Straight each driving in three runs. Kaitlyn Kaetzel, Taylor Joachim, and Shaniya Straight each had three hits.
In addition to 15 hits, Hoptown was issued 11 walks and batted 10-of-14 with runners in scoring position.
The Lady Tigers (8-11) have scored 46 runs in wins over UHA and Dawson Springs and will travel to Christian Fellowship looking for their second three-game winning streak of the season.
