Todd County Central’s Haylee Vass yielded a single hit to visiting University Heights Academy on Monday night, helping the Lady Rebels to a 17-1 victory in four innings. The Lady Blazers slip to 1-7, while Todd County snaps a three-game skid to move to 3-7 overall. Both teams will face district competition on Tuesday, with UHA hosting Hopkinsville and the Lady Rebels going on the road to Russellville.
Emma Harris doubled to score 2 in the bottom of the first and the Lady Rebels added 3 more to lead 5-0 after one. Up 11-1 in the third, Samantha Case and Rachel Bilyeu hit back-to-back RBI doubles, followed by a run-scoring double by Vass to stretch the margin to 13.
After a walk and a single by Whitney Higgins to open the bottom of the fourth, Case reached on an error to bring in Higgins and Lindsey Roe, ending the game.
Higgins led the Lady Rebels with 2 hits, with Case driving-in 3, and Bilyeu and Harris with 2 RBI each.
