Colonel Boys Pace Track Effort at Toyota of Hopkinsville Invitational

The Christian County track and field team got a third-place finish from its boys on Saturday at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Invitational, punctuated by strong showings in the discus, hurdles, and relay races.  The Christian County girls finished sixth, with Ariyonna Johnson, Cierra Ward and Autumn Bell placing highly.

For the boys, Hasai Powell took home second in the discus with a distance of 123-00.  Ethan Dooley and Kenyon Drayton finished first and second in the 110M hurdles with times of 16.91 and 17.79, respectively.  Dooley and Drayton were close in the 300M hurdles as well, placing second and third at 43.68 and 45.39.

The 4x200M relay team, consisting of Javorien McGregor, Tywon Nance, Naji Redd and K’Ron Sherald finished second behind crosstown rival Hopkinsville, with a time of 1:35.08, while the team of Dooley, Nance, Sherald and Tyler West came in second in the 4x400M relay at 3:40.39.  Sherald earned a third-place finish in the 400M with a time of 52.10.

On the girls’ side, Autumn Bell led the way with a first-place showing in the 200M, posting a time of 27.15.  Ariyonna Johnson finished runner-up in the high jump with a height of 5-00.00, just behind Warren Central’s Jaida Tooley at 5-02.00.  Cierra Ward also earned a second-place finish, jumping 15-10.00 in the long jump.
