Caldwell County knocked off their second ranked softball team in as many days Friday as they edged No. 12 Daviess County 4-3 in eight innings at the Marshall County Slugfest.
Down to their last out in the seventh inning, Mashea Glover walked ahead of a Katie Franklin double to tie the game at 3-3.
In the eighth, a throwing error by Daviess County scored A.J. Hollowell with what proved to be the game-winner.
Allie Felker got Caldwell County on the board with a solo home run. Glover, Emma Staples, and Majah Hollowell joined Franklin with doubles in the game, while Haley Stiles added a triple.
Franklin got the pitching win, scattering five hits and striking out eight batters.
The win over Daviess County (8-7) came 24 hours after a 6-4 win over No. 20 Marshall County.
Caldwell County opened play in the Slugfest with a 1-0 win over Paducah Tilghman. Franklin struck out 10 and allowed just four hits.
The only run of the game came in the second inning when Allie Felker singled and scored on a Madi Choate single.
Caldwell County (5-8) continues play in the Marshall County Slugfest Saturday with a pair of games.
