Hopkinsville scored eight runs on eight hits in the seventh inning to hand Madisonville an 11-4 loss Thursday at Elmer Kelley Stadium.
The teams combined for 23 hits and eight extra base hits, with nine of the game’s 15 runs scored in the final inning. Ryan Myers had a two-run double for Hoptown in their seventh inning explosion, while Layne Jorgensen, Aaron Crosby, and Logan Durst had RBI singles in the frame.
John Duvall led the Tigers with three hits, and Jorgensen, Crosby, Durst, and Robert Justus each had two hits.
Blake Reynolds had a pair of doubles for Madisonville (6-6), and Jacob Joseph added two hits and two RBIs.
Preston Chaudoin picked up the pitching win for Hoptown, scattering eight hits and striking out six Maroons.
Hopkinsville (8-3) hosts Caldwell County Friday.
