The Caldwell County Lady Tigers put an end to their two game losing streak in a big way Thursday evening. The Lady Tigers scored seven runs before the first out of the game took place and rolled on to a 23-0 three inning win over the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers in a 7th District contest.
Caldwell County scored 9 runs in the first inning, five more in the second inning, and then capped off their scoring with nine more run in the third inning.
Katie Franklin had a big night at the plate for Caldwell County, going 2-4 with a triple, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Allie Felker was 2-3 with a double and a triple, with 3 RBI’s, and two runs scored. Emma Staples went 1-2 with a triple, three RBI’s, three runs scored, and two walks.
In the circle, Katie Franklin went all three innings, pitching a no-hitter, striking out 8 of the ten batters she faced. The only Dawson Springs hitter to reach base did so on a Caldwell County error.
With the win, Caldwell County improves to 2-4 on the season, and 1-1 in district play.
