Trigg County’s Hannah Colbert didn’t allow a hit or a walk over five innings and drove in 4 runs in a 12-0 victory over West Creek, TN on Thursday night. The win snaps a two-game slide to even the Lady Wildcats’ record at 4-4.
Trigg County got started with 5 runs in the bottom of the first, taking advantage of 5 walks to go with a Colbert double that brought in 2 runs.
TT Grubbs doubled to drive in a run in the bottom of the third, followed by Colbert’s second 2-RBI double to stretch the advantage to 9-0. The Lady Wildcats added the last 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Colbert struck out the side in the top of the fifth to close the game, the last of her 10 strikeouts. She also led the way at the plate with a couple of hits and 4 RBI, followed by Grubbs with 2 hits and a run driven-in, and Kara Southwood and Autumn Durham with a hit and an RBI each.
The Lady Wildcats will have the opportunity to measure themselves against the defending 2nd-Region champs on Friday, as they travel to Hopkinsville to face the 6-0 Christian County Lady Colonels. Trigg County will host the Lady Cat Invitational on Saturday, with games scheduled against Henderson County and Calloway County.
