Heritage Christian Academy got a strong pitching performance from Josh Jones in running their record to 5-0 on the season with a 3-1 win at Hendersonville Christian Academy.
Jones needed only 78 pitches to fire a complete game four-hitter. He struck out 10 and walked just one.
The only trouble Jones ran into was in the third inning when Hendersonville scored a run with three straight singles.
HCA answered with two runs in the fourth inning when Grant Floyd’s single scored Jones (walk) and Weston Powell (single).
The Warriors tacked on an insurance run in the fifth inning when Trenton Hayes walked, stole a base and scored on a Hendersonville error.
Powell had two hits for HCA, who was able to overcome a 12-strikeout day at the plate.
Heritage Christian will return to action Saturday when they travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to play Franklin Road Christian.
