The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers are now set to officially open the season following their final preseason scrimmage against Heritage Christian Monday afternoon. The Lady Tigers scored early and often in rolling to a 17-0 three inning win over the KCAA school from across town.
Hopkinsville plated seven runs in the first inning, five more in the second, and five in the third in the unofficial game. Lady Tiger pitchers limited the Lady Warriors to just one hit over the three innings that the teams played.
Marley Hancock and Sebrina Hodge were both 3-3 for Hopkinsville. Hodge also had two RBIs. Morgan Hodge, Taiya Straight, and Katelyn Kaetzel, each added two hits for the Lady Tigers.
Marley Hancock started in the circle for Hopkinsville, going one inning, giving up no hits and striking out one. Morgan Hodge went two innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.
Carol Mitchell pitched all three innings for Heritage Christian, striking out four.
