The 2018 Christian County Lady Colonels were a team that could erupt for a big inning at any time, and it appears the 2019 team will be no different. Christian County plated 8 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning on their way to a 13-2 scrimmage win over Butler County Tuesday evening at Christian County High School.
The Lady Colonels sent 11 batters to the plate in the big inning. Tyler Shemwell came up with a double and a home run in the inning, one of three home runs hit by Christian County, who led the state in the long ball during the 2018 season. Emmy Blane and Hope Jones also went deep for the Lady Colonels.
Shemwell also hit another double in the bottom of the 6th inning, as Christian County plated four more runs.
The Lady Colonels are set to have their final preseason scrimmage Saturday when they host Marshall County.
