University Heights Academy Coach Grant Shouse was named the boys’ Second Region Coach of the Year after leading the Blazers to 30 wins and a region runner-up finish.
The Blazers won the Eighth District title and finished with a record of 30-5 following a loss Saturday to Madisonville in the region championship. The 30-win season was the first for UHA in 11 years and the fifth in school history.
In addition to the district title, UHA won the All-A Classic region and state title in January.
Voting for the award was conducted by the 15 region coaches.
