
A Hopkinsville native is returning to Kentucky to take over a football program in the Bowling Green area. According to a Tweet from the Bowling Green Daily News, Cary Fowler, who played high school football at Hopkinsville High School, has been named as the new head coach at Warren Central High School.
Fowler, who played collegiate football at Murray State, last served as an assistant coach at Eastern Illinois. He also has spent time as an assistant coach at Howard Payne University, head coach at Tarleton State from 2010-2015, defensive coordinator at Tarleton State, defensive coordinator at Midwestern State, and as an assistant coach at Murray State from 1995-2000.
Fowler replaces Joel Taylor, who went 0-32 in three seasons at the helm of the Warren Central football program. The Dragons have lost their last 35 games in a row.
