It’s not exactly the sport that first comes to mind when you think of female high school athletes. But this bunch of ladies is headed off to compete in their first state championship competition.
With the arrival of the 2018-2019 school year came the arrival of girls wrestling at Fort Campbell High School. The team, which is coached by Anthony Shingler, will be seeking a state title this weekend.
Not only is it the first year for the team, the team will also be participating in the first ever Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association Girls State Championship. The event is being held at Tates Creek High School, in Lexington.
