Offensive struggles were simply too much for the Heritage Christian Lady Warriors to overcome Tuesday evening. Jo Byrns limited HCA to just four field goals in the first three quarters, as they rolled past the Lady Warriors 61-25.
The struggles began right out of the gate for HCA. The Lady Warriors connected on only two field goals in the opening quarter, and Jo Byrns bolted out to a 17-5 lead.
Things did not get much better in the 2nd quarter for Heritage. A basket from Abbi Bullock was the only field goal for the Lady Warriors in the quarter, as Jo Byrns extended the lead to 34-8 at the half. It was a tough first half for HCA’s Chelsea Dortch, who was held scoreless in the first sixteen minutes.
Dortch finally got on the board in the 3rd quarter. The problem was that her first field goal of the game was the only score for the Lady Warriors in the quarter. Jo Byrns extended the lead to 48-10 entering the final eight minutes.
HCA got out from outside the arc in the final quarter. The Lady Warriors connected on five 3-point shot in the 4th quarter, but it was too little too late as Jo Byrns picked up the win.
Chelsea Dortch had 11 points for HCA, all of them coming in the second half. Kinley Deason added seven for the Lady Warriors.
Jo Byrns was led by Brooke Bowlen with 18 points.
