
Christian County used a stout pressure defense to lead wire to wire and hand Fort Campbell an 81-51 loss Saturday on post. The win snapped a brief two-game losing streak for the Colonels.
Eric Brody had the hot hand early for Christian County, scoring 14 points in the opening quarter to stake the Colonels to a 28-10 lead. Stephon Bussell came off the bench to provide a second quarter spark for the Colonels, scoring 10 points in the frame.
Fort Campbell found their way for a bit in the second quarter as seven different players got into the scoring column. The Falcons pulled to within 14 points before the Colonels pushed their lead to 53-25 at halftime.
Cameron Johnson scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half to account for all but 10 of the Falcons’ points in the third and fourth quarters. Doryan Hall added 10 points, and Cameron Pratt scored seven points.
Brody finished with a game-high 24 points for Christian County. Bussell scored 16 points, and Shay Stowe scored 10 points.
Fort Campbell (4-6) plays at Dawson Springs Tuesday.
Christian County (8-8) welcomes in University Heights to Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium Tuesday.
