The Wildcats (6-5) will play Richland County, Illinois Thursday at 1:30. Trigg County won two of three games to finish third at their KME Christmas Classic at Wildcat Gym.
They will face a Tiger squad that enters as the top seed in the 16-team event. Richland County is 8-2 and giving up just 43 points a game on defense.
A Trigg County win moves them into a Friday 1:30 matchup with Greenville, Ill. (7-5) or Union County (4-3). A loss sends them into the noon Friday consolation bracket. Union County and Trigg County are the only two Kentucky schools in the field. Trigg has never played any of the other 14 teams in the field.
Once the calendar flips to 2019, the Wildcats will resume district play at Livingston Central Jan. 4.
