Calloway County exacted some revenge on Hopkinsville Friday, handing the Lady Tigers a 66-38 loss in the Owensboro Invitational Tournament. Hoptown opened the season with a 60-41 win over the Lady Lakers Nov. 27 at Tiger Gym.
This time around, Hoptown didn’t have an answer for Calloway junior Charlee Settle. She scored 11 points in the first quarter as Calloway raced to a 16-5 lead. Up 32-18 at halftime, Calloway went on a 17-7 run in the third quarter to take command of the contest.
Settle finished with 32 points, and Keeli Puckett added 13 for Calloway County (8-1).
Hopkinsville got 13 points from Jayla Rose and 12 from Breon Oldham. Donisha Flowers scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Hoptown shot just 33-percent from the field and missed six of their seven free throw attempts.
Hopkinsville (8-4) will play OIT host Owensboro Saturday.
