After losing a second half lead in their loss to Logan County Thursday, Caldwell County came from behind to sweep their Friday games at the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic at Morgantown.
The Tigers knocked down ten 3-pointers and used balanced scoring to beat host Butler County 67-65 in overtime Friday in the nightcap of the tournament.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than five points at the end of any quarter.
Tripp Branch and John Davis led the way for Caldwell County with 16 points each. Cayden Fraliex had 12 points on four 3-pointers, and Cole Smiley scored 12 points.
Parker Rice led Butler County (6-5) with 24 points, while Justin Elms scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half.
Earlier in the day, Caldwell County overcame a 12-point halftime deficit and 7-point fourth quarter hole to beat Franklin-Simpson 67-63.
Derrin Boyd, held to three points in the first half, exploded for 19 points in the fourth quarter, including 9-of-9 at the free throw line. The Tiger senior finished with a game-high 30 points.
Cayden Fraliex added 13 points, and John Davis scored 10. The Tigers were 17-of-20 at the free throw line in the contest.
Andreyous Miller scored 16 points for Franklin-Simpson (4-6), who hit just 7-of-13 free throws.
Caldwell County (7-3) will play Fulton City Thursday in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic at the CAB.
