
Former Christian County guard Taiveyhon Mason has been named the Kansas Junior College Men’s Division II Player of the Week in helping the seventh ranked Highland College Scotties to a pair of wins.
The sophomore scored 25 points, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, and three rebounds in a 106-41 win. Against Neosho County, he scored a career-high 27 points and had six rebounds. He finished the week with a 22-point night in a 98-58 win over Louisiana Christian Prep.
After winning the award earlier in the day, he scored a career-high 30 points Tuesday night in a 76-72 win over Des Moines Area College.
Mason is averaging 24.2 points a game while shooting 65-percent from the field and adding three rebounds and two assists per game.
