The Christian County Colonels’ football season came to an abrupt end Friday night in Bowling Green with a 29-7 loss to the Purples in the opening round of the KHSAA 5A playoffs. The loss is the program’s first at this stage since 2006, the year before coach Steve Lovelace took the helm. After the game, Lovelace talked about a stretch just before and after halftime that decided the game, and was happy with his team’s commitment throughout.
