The UHA Lady Blazers are back in the 8th District girls soccer championship game for the 4th consecutive year. UHA advanced by rolling past Fort Campbell 7-0 Monday night at Fryar Stadium.
Fort Campbell stayed with the Lady Blazers for the early part of the first half of play. UHA struck for two goals in less than three minutes to take control of the match. Grace Pape snuck in a corner kick at the 19:00 mark to put the Lady Blazers up 1-0. Less than 3 minutes later, Lilly Strader connected to make it 2-0.
Strader found the net again at 32:50 when she drilled one from the left front corner of the box to make it a 3-0 UHA lead. That lead would still be in place when the first half came to an end.
UHA then finished off the match with a flurry of four goals in just under 18 minutes in the second half. Grace Pape scored her second goal of the night, beating the goalie at 58:15 to make it a 4-0 game. Alex Juckett got in on the scoring action at 64:50 to extend the lead to 5-0.
Lilly Strader finished off the scoring attack for University Heights, scoring her 3rd goal at 65:50, and her 4th goal of the night at 76:00 to reach the final 7-0 score.
UHA moves on to Thursday night’s 8th District championship against Christian County. The two teams met September 13, with the Lady Blazers coming away with a 3-0 win.
