Lady Wildcats Finish 11th at FastCats Invitational

The region cross country meet is three weeks away, and Trigg County got a course preview Saturday at the FastCats Invitational at Owensboro’s Yellow Creek Park.

DeDe Barbee was the first Lady Wildcat over the finish line in 75th place in a time of 24:10. Lexi Ricks was next (77th), followed by Grace Hill (79th), Livi Ricks (86th), Breeanna Barnes (88th), Phelan Dossett (149th), and Kylie Alford (160th).

Daviess County’s Karlee Hoffman took first place in a time of 19:08 over the 3.1-mile course.

As a team, Trigg County finished 11th with 303 points, just four points out of ninth place.

Daviess County won with 33 points, followed by McCracken County (93), and North Oldham (93).

Ethan Futrell led the Wildcat runners across the line in 117th place (19:41). He was two places ahead of Marshall Jenkins (19:43). Austin Cavanaugh was 133rd followed by Apolo Blackbear-Francis (182nd), Riley Thompson (188th), Tyler Freeman (197th), Alex Skinner (229th), and Carson Woodall (22:29).

Madisonville’s Christian Parker bested 400 other runners in the race to win in a time of 15:59.

As a team, Trigg County finished 26th with 646 points.

Montgomery Bell Academy of Nashville won the boy’s team competition with 58 points. Bowling Green (154) was second, and Marshall County (169) was third.

Eli Hill was Trigg County’s top runner in the middle school boys’ race with a 118th place finish.

Rose Owen led the Lady Wildcats in the middle school race with a 31st place finish.
