
It was the perfect way for the Caldwell County Lady Tigers to celebrate Senior Night at Butler Stadium Thursday. The Lady Tigers controlled the match against Webster County from the very beginning and rolled to a 6-0 win in their regular season finale. The shutout was their fifth of the season.
Kaylee McEnaney got things going for the Lady Tigers, scoring off an an assist from Maggie Ginn to put Caldwell County up 1-0 at the 14:00 mark.
Eight minutes later the Lady Tigers extended their lead. This time it was Allissa Traylor scoring on the assist from Laney Fletcher to put Caldwell County ahead to 2-0.
Late in the first half, Lucy Goffinet found the back of the net to extend the lead to 3-0 going into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Lady Tiger defense continued its solid play, while the offense kept up the attack. Kaylee McEnaney got her second goal of the night off a rebound at the 45:00 mark to make it a 4-0 Caldwell County lead.
In her final home game for the Lady Tigers, Laney Fletcher scored off an assist from McEnaney to extend the lead to 5-0 at 59:00.
Lucy Goffinet got her second goal of the night at the 73:00 mark to end the scoring and to seal the win at 6-0.
Caldwell County ends the regular season with a record of 9-11. The Lady Tigers will open play in the 7th District tournament Monday evening when they take on Hopkins Central, at Madisonville. The match is set for a 5:30pm start.
